What Can Delay Your Refund?

  • PATH Act: Returns with EITC or ACTC are held until mid-February
  • Errors: Incorrect SSN, math errors, or missing forms

  • Amended returns: Form 1040-X takes 16+ weeks to process
  • Back taxes owed: Refunds may be offset for past-due taxes, child support, or federal debts
